Symptoms of Emetophobia
This page will cover all the physical and psychological symptoms of emetophobia. Even if you do not have all of these symptoms, it doesn't mean you aren't emetophobic. Some people have certain symptoms, and other people have other symptoms.
Psychological symptoms:
intense fear
worrying
nervousness
overthinking
frustration
nervous breakdowns
panic attacks
nightmares
refusal to eat or drink, or may drink lots of water
wanting to run away
having a strict, bland diet
crying
insist on being alone or having someone they trust with them
pacing
excessive cleanliness
become dissociative or irrational
beg others for help or reassurance
want to self mutilate (someone who is panicking may claw their skin)
fear of things that may relate to vomiting
may refer to google when feeling queasy, which usually makes anxiety worse.
Physical symptoms:
trembling
weakness
panic attacks (panic attacks are both a mental and physical issue)
nausea
diarrhea
weight loss
fainting
dizziness
sweating and/or chills
high blood pressure
headaches
blurry vision
hypersensitivity to sights, smells, sounds, etc.
hyperventilation
hypoventilation
fatigue
muscle cramps
